Siegerland Collection
The University Library of Siegen collects and makes accessible literature on the Siegerland and the neighbouring regions.
European Documentation Center
Since 1994 the University Library of Siegen is Documentation Centre of the European Union (EU). In this function the University Library provides official publications and other information of the EU.
Collection Kreuzer
In 2007 the University of Siegen acquired the complete library and other archive material from the estate of the professor in German studies Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Helmut Kreuzer and his wife Dr. Ingrid Kreuzer as part of a donation.
Archive of the Jung-Stilling-Gesellschaft e.V.
The archive of the Jung-Stilling Society, located in the Siegen University Library, contains research papers, documents, pictorial material and books by and about the ophthalmologist and economist Johann Heinrich Jung-Stilling (1740-1817), who was from the ‘Siegerland’ region.
The Jung-Stilling archive is is open to the public by appointment at the Siegen University Library and under supervision.
Collection Rosa Flieder
The predominantly German-language literature collection on homosexuality comprises about 500 book titles (04ZZVD) and about 1000 journal volumes (04ZZVC) from the late 1970s to the early 2000s and is located in the stacks of the branch library in Hölderlinstraße. The titles can be ordered for use in the reading room.
According to the Rosa Flieder collection, the core issues of the homosexual movement in the 1980s and 1990s were the emergence of the AIDS problem, the abolition of § 175 of the German Penal Code, and a generally intensified public debate about equal rights.
Collection of children's and youth literature
A small collection of classical and current books for children and young people for students of teaching and other interested parties is located in the main library Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR), floor 0. The collection is occasionally supplemented with new publications. The books of the collection are freely accessible and can be borrowed.
The children's and youth literature is divided into picture books (BSJ), children's books (BSK), youth books (BSL) and non-fiction books for children and young people (BSM).
