In the library you can find
- approx. 1,2 million books and journal volumes
- 2.400 subscribed printed journals
- domestic and foreign newspapers
- more than 4.200 licensed electronic journals and more than 15.000 eBooks
- as well as a multitude of audio-visual media

Introductions
There are several german language introductions into the use of the library as well in the Main Library Adolf-Reichwein-Str. as in the Branch Libraries. For an overview of the dates please refer to the training calendar.
Lending services and search tools
For borrowing media you need a valid library card. This is free of charge; you can apply for it at all circulation desks of the library by presenting the application form, your valid identity card or a valid passport (and an official registration of residence) and a certificate of matriculation.
The holdings oft the library are contained in the electronic library catalogue; it is the cental research insturment.
Learning and working in the library
Whether for concentrated reading or for group discussions – the library offers a multitude of possibilities for working and learning on site.
Counselling and training
Searching literature effectively? Using the right search instruments and strategies? – The library assists you in those questions with a wide range of advisory services and training courses.
